Description

Beyond Retrieval: Advanced Management of Fractured Endodontic Instruments
A one-day, hands-on advanced course with Dr Daniel Flynn, Specialist Endodontist

£1,300 + VAT · includes more than £1,000 of equipment to keep

Leave it, bypass it or take it out? This course is about making that call well. Instead of treating every fractured instrument as something to remove, you’ll learn to assess the whole tooth (restorability, periodontal status, endodontic prognosis, canal anatomy, fragment position and remaining dentine) and choose the treatment that best serves the patient. Through real clinical cases, Daniel shows when retrieval is right and when bypassing, retaining the fragment, surgery or intentional reimplantation is the better option.

What you’ll cover

  • Access and exposure: staging platforms, microscopic visualisation, ultrasonic troughing and controlled dentine removal
  • Retrieval: ultrasonics, micro-trephines, loop and tube techniques, and the Yoshi and Rogin systems
  • Bypass: getting past fragments, managing ledges and curved canals with D-Finder, TS Elite and shaper files, and using a reciprocating handpiece with D-Finders
  • Beyond retrieval: recognising when to stop, and when retention, surgery or reimplantation is the better path

Genuinely hands-on
This isn’t a demonstration course. With a maximum of 10 delegates, every clinician has their own dental operating microscope and ultrasonic unit. You’ll work through structured exercises on extracted teeth, 3D models and training blocks, with close supervision throughout.

Equipment you take home

  • Yoshi Instrument Removal Kit
  • Rogin Instrument Removal System
  • D-Finder and Elite file system
  • Plus exposure to BTR Pen and Endo Cowboy approaches
