Description

E(d)70 attachment and e74 polymer tip for ultrasonic activation.

Great for safe removal of calcium hydroxide or intra-canal dressing and activation of fluids in the root canal system.

Pro tips:

Only use in fluid, tip can separate when activated in air.
Use at 15% power and ensure tip not bound in canal system

  • Primary Use: The E74 tip is designed specifically for activating irrigating solutions like Sodium Hypochlorite (NaOCl) within the root canal. The ultrasonic micro-oscillations create acoustic streaming, which enhances the cleaning effect and removes the smear layer and debris from areas that files cannot reach.
  • Material and Safety: It is made from PEEK (poly ether ether ketone), a high-performance medical-grade polymer. This non-cutting material prevents damage to the canal morphology, reducing the risk of ledging or perforation, unlike metal tips used for dentine removal.
  • Dimensions: The E74 tip has a diameter of 0.25mm and a working length of 20.7mm. This thin, flexible design allows it to reach deep into the canal system.
    • E73: Diameter: 0.25mm.
    • Length: 17.7mm.
    • E72: Diameter: 0.3mm.
    • Length: 20.7mm.
  • Compatibility: It is compatible with Woodpecker/DTE and similar ultrasonic handpieces and requires an E70 or ED70 adapter.
  • Usage Protocol: According to product descriptions, the tip should be inserted into the canal filled with solution, and the ultrasound activated on a low power setting (Mode E, power 1-3) for a short period (around 20 seconds per canal).
  • Reusability: The tips are autoclavable. While they can be reused, efficiency may decrease after several uses, and many clinicians use them once per patient to maintain optimal performance.
