Cerkamed 100% orange oil Gutta-percha solvent Endodontic retreatment 10ml bottle 3 application pipettes

For gutta-percha removal

ORANGE GUTTANE is intended for use during repeated root canal treatment to help remove gutta-percha cones from the canal. The oil softens the gutta-percha, allowing the clinician to remove it with the selected root canal instrument.

  • Designed for endodontic retreatment
  • Helps soften gutta-percha in the canal
  • Useful when gutta-percha is dry or crumbly
  • Supports mechanical removal with endodontic instruments
  • For professional dental use only

Orange oil alternative to harsher solvents

Orange oil gutta-percha solvents are widely used in retreatment workflows where clinicians want to soften root filling material while maintaining controlled removal with files, hand instruments or retreatment systems.

  • 100% orange oil composition
  • 10ml bottle format
  • Application pipettes supplied
  • Reusable bottle
  • Disposable pipettes for safer clinical use

Also works well with xp shaper & finisher and Yoshi's gutta percha removal instrument.

Toothsaver clinical view

Gutta-percha solvent should be used deliberately and sparingly. The aim is to soften the material enough to support controlled removal, not to flood the canal unnecessarily.

In retreatment, the safest approach is usually a combination of magnification, good access, appropriate instruments, irrigation and careful judgement about how much solvent is needed at each stage.

Clinical applications

  • Endodontic retreatment
  • Removal of gutta-percha cones

  • Supporting hand-file or rotary retreatment workflows
  • Removal of root filling material during repeated root canal treatment
  • Use before canal cleaning, shaping and disinfection

Retreatment workflow context

ORANGE GUTTANE is an adjunct to mechanical removal. It does not replace careful canal negotiation, retreatment instrumentation or irrigation.

Use small amounts and remove softened material progressively. Avoid unnecessary overuse, especially before adhesive restorative stages.

Important bonding and dentine considerations

Cerkamed notes that gutta-percha dissolving oils can reduce dentine microhardness and may adversely affect the interaction between dentine and restorative materials.

After using a gutta-percha solvent, clean and irrigate thoroughly before definitive obturation, post placement or adhesive restorative procedures.

Important safety information

ORANGE GUTTANE is for use by dentists only. Do not use in patients with hypersensitivity to the product components.

The product is a flammable liquid and vapour. It can irritate skin and oral mucosa and may cause allergic skin reaction. Use rubber dam, disposable gloves, safety goggles or visor, and protective clothing when handling the product.

In case of contact with skin, wash with soap and water and rinse thoroughly. In case of oral mucosal contact, rinse with water. In case of eye contact, rinse the opened eye for several minutes under running water and consult a doctor. If swallowed, drink plenty of water and seek medical advice.

ORANGE GUTTANE has cytotoxic potential. Endodontic treatment may involve temporary postoperative pain. Always read and follow the manufacturer's instructions before clinical use.
