Description
MANI ultrasonic endodontic files
MANI U Files for Ultrasonic Root Canal Irrigation & Canal Enlargement
MANI U Files are ultrasonic endodontic files used with an active ultrasonic device to support root canal irrigation, debridement and canal enlargement. They are designed to be fitted into a suitable 120° ultrasonic file holder and used with vertical reciprocating or lifting movement during endodontic treatment.
Ultrasonic activation inside the canal
MANI U Files are used by attaching an adapter (E1 or to ED1) an active ultrasonic device, such as a scaler, through a suitable file holder. The ultrasonic movement helps agitate irrigant, support debris removal and remove broken files within the root canal system.
- Designed for ultrasonic endodontic use
- Used with an active device such as an ultrasonic scaler
- Produces vertical reciprocating or lifting movement
- Useful as an aid to root canal irrigation
- Helps support canal debridement workflows
Canal enlargement and irrigation support
The Toothsaver page describes MANI U Files as non-sterile instruments used to enlarge the root canal when connected to an active device. They are also a useful aid to root canal irrigation when used with the correct clinical technique.
- Useful for irrigation activation
- Can assist canal enlargement
- Suitable for selected endodontic ultrasonic workflows
- Available in three practical sizes
- Used with a compatible 120° ultrasonic file holder
Toothsaver clinical view
MANI U Files are useful where clinicians want a simple ultrasonic file option for irrigation activation and selected canal enlargement procedures. They are particularly relevant for practices already using ultrasonic scalers and endodontic ultrasonic accessories.
The key is controlled use: choose the correct size, avoid forcing the file, maintain irrigant, and use the file with an appropriate ultrasonic file holder and compatible ultrasonic unit.
Available Toothsaver options
MANI U File Size 20
Best for: Finer ultrasonic endodontic use where a smaller file is appropriate.
Pack: 6 files per pack.
MANI U File Size 25
Best for: General ultrasonic irrigation and canal enlargement support in appropriately prepared canals.
Pack: 6 files per pack.
MANI U File Size 30
Best for: Larger canal spaces where a larger ultrasonic file is clinically appropriate.
Pack: 6 files per pack.
Size selection note
Choose by: Canal size, preparation shape, curvature and intended clinical use.
Clinical note: Do not force ultrasonic files into narrow or curved canals.
Clinical applications
- Irrigation activation: ultrasonic agitation of irrigant inside the canal.
- Canal debridement: helping disrupt debris within the prepared canal space.
- Canal enlargement support: selected enlargement when clinically appropriate.
- Endodontic retreatment: useful in selected ultrasonic workflows.
- General endodontics: practical accessory for practices using ultrasonic irrigation.
- Microscope-supported endodontics: controlled use under enhanced vision where appropriate.
What you need to use them
- A compatible ultrasonic scaler or active device
- A suitable 120° ultrasonic file holder
- Appropriate irrigant and irrigation protocol
- Correct file size selection
- Magnification where clinically helpful
- Reprocessing protocol for non-sterile instruments
How MANI U Files fit into an irrigation workflow
After shaping and initial irrigation, a MANI U File can be used with an ultrasonic unit to agitate irrigant within the canal. The file should move freely and should not be forced into the canal. Ultrasonic irrigation is most effective when there is space for irrigant movement and when the file is used with controlled, light contact.
1. Prepare the canal
Aim: Create a safe, reproducible canal shape before ultrasonic activation.
Clinical note: Ultrasonic files should not be used to force a pathway through difficult anatomy.
2. Select the file size
Aim: Choose Size 20, 25 or 30 according to canal anatomy and preparation size.
Clinical note: The file should be able to move freely within the prepared canal.
3. Activate irrigant
Aim: Use ultrasonic movement to agitate irrigant and support canal debridement.
Clinical note: Maintain irrigant and avoid locking the file against canal walls.
4. Rinse and inspect
Aim: Continue irrigation and inspect canal cleanliness before obturation.
Clinical note: Follow your usual final irrigation and drying protocol.
Important clinical note
MANI U Files are non-sterile and should be cleaned, inspected and sterilised according to manufacturer instructions and local practice protocols before use. They should be used only with compatible ultrasonic equipment and a suitable file holder.
Ultrasonic files should be used with light, controlled movement. Avoid excessive pressure, forcing, locking, or use in canals where the file cannot move safely.
